
INDIANAPOLIS - A man is accused of having gone on a shooting rampage on the south side of Indianapolis on Saturday, where he allegedly shot a man in his vehicle and brutally attacked a woman in her home.
Chris Perry, 22, was charged with the following offenses:
- Burglary with a Deadly Weapon, a Level 2 Felony
- Kidnapping while Armed with a Deadly Weapon, a Level 3 Felony
- Aggravated Battery, a Level 3 Felony
- Aggravated Battery, a Level 3 Felony
- Battery by means of a Deadly Weapon, a Level 5 Felony
- Intimidation, a Level 5 Felony
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Dangerous Individual, a Misdemeanor
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was dispatched to the area of E Troy Ave. and Carson Ave. on Saturday, May 31, at approximately 5:49 p.m. on a report of a man walking down a street and firing off a gun. Upon arrival, officers found a pickup truck that crashed into a fence.
The driver of the truck was suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower left chest. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The man suffered from a spleen injury, kidney trauma, ballistic fragment in liver, injury to his colon, a collapsed left lung, and has a stomach that is draining fluid.
While at the scene from the truck, police were flagged down by witnesses that claimed the shooter had ran into a home at the 1200 block Troy Ave.

According to court documents, the man kicked down the door at the home and he began to shoot his firearm multiple times. There was a woman in the home who heard the man pounding on the door and firing shots. He entered the residence with the gun, and the man hit her in the head. The woman fell to the floor, and over the next several minutes he allegedly hit and kicked her around twenty times.
The man reportedly pulled her pants down, asked for the passcode to her phone, and where the nearest Church's Chicken was. He allegedly told her that he was going to kill her during the attack where he dragged her back and forth through the home. When was able to unlock her phone, he called 911.

The woman said she called her daughter on Facetime to tell her that she loved her. Her daughter rushed to the home, and reported the information to authorities.
