Docs: Man robs concession stand, hits man in groin and leads everyone on chase

EATON, Ind. - A senior citizen is in jail after he allegedly stole from a concession stand and led multiple people on a chase in Eaton.
Allen Ashcraft, 67, was preliminarily charged with:
- Burglary, a Level 5 Felony
- Battery, a Class A Misdemeanor
- Theft
- Criminal Trespass
Officers with the Eaton Police Department were dispatched to the ball diamonds in Eaton on a report of an individual 'causing trouble.'
According to court documents, a board member of the Eaton Baseball organization heard rummaging near the concession stand. When he attempted to enter the stand, he found that the doors were locked from the inside. This is when Allen allegedly ran out the back door.
The board member quickly caught up to the 67-year-old man, but the suspect reportedly hit him in the groin and kept going. Soon after, two other men joined the chase. They apprehended Allen until authorities arrived.
When law enforcement did arrive, Allen was immediately arrested. Crews searched the area and found the empty cash register that had appeared to be tampered with. Further, officers say that he admitted to the crime. In total, Allen allegedly stole $9.30 from the register. Due to the register having no cash in it, the $9.30 was all miscellaneous coins.
Allen was transported to the Delaware County Jail.
