Docs: Muncie man arrested for selling drugs that led to 25-year-old's death

MUNCIE, Ind. -- A 44-year-old Muncie man was arrested after police alleged he sold the drugs that led to the fatal overdose of a 25-year-old man in May.
According to court documents, Henry Sandoe was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon on a preliminary charge of dealing resulting in death, a Level 1 felony, in Delaware County.
This comes after Sandoe had previously been charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, in both Delaware and Henry counties.
On the morning of May 19, officers with the Muncie Police Department were dispatched to an apartment in the 1700 block of N. Glenwood Ave. on a call of a possible cardiac arrest. When officers arrived, the documents said that 25-year-old Anthony Maxwell was found dead in a locked bathroom.
After an investigation into the incident, Maxwell's cause of death was found to be acute methamphetamine and fentanyl intoxication, the documents said.
As part of the investigation, Maxwell's phone was located. Investigators found that the last messages on the phone were from a social media exchange with a man later identified as Sandoe. The messages centered around a reported drug transaction that occurred on May 18 at a location in Muncie.
On Tuesday, Sandoe was located and arrested near the intersection of 8th and Jefferson. In an interview with Sandoe, the documents said that he was "physically upset" when he found out that Maxwell was dead.
During the interview, Sandoe reportedly admitted to dealing Maxwell methamphetamine in Muncie on May 18. However, Sandoe stated he did not give Maxwell fentanyl.
"Sandoe stated he does not deal fentanyl or heroin and only meth and acts more as a middle person," according to the documents.
The documents said that the messages to and from Maxwell were reportedly located on Sandoe's phone as well.
