Docs: Muncie man preliminarily charged with burglary after firing shot during apartment altercation

MUNCIE, Ind. -- A Muncie man has been preliminarily charged with burglary after he reportedly entered the apartment of a woman, fought with her and then fired a shot as he was leaving.
According to court documents, 34-year-old Anthony Moore has been preliminarily charged with:
- One count of burglary while armed with a deadly weapon, a Level 2 felony
- One count of domestic battery with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony
- One count of intimidation with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony
- One count of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a Level 6 felony
At around 12:04 a.m. on June 18, officers with the Muncie Police Department were called to an apartment in the 4200 block of S. Pinewood Drive on a report of shots fired.
A woman told dispatch that a man, later identified as Moore, reportedly came to her apartment, banged on the door, came inside to fight with her and fired off a shot as he was leaving.
When officers arrived, the woman reportedly told police that she was upstairs asleep with her 3-year-old daughter when she heard banging on her front door. A friend who was at the apartment answered the door and Moore reportedly entered the apartment "yelling and storming up the stairs."
The documents said that Moore reportedly slapped the woman when she confronted him on the landing upstairs. During this interaction, Moore also reportedly pointed a handgun at the woman.
As Moore was leaving the apartment, the documents said that Moore "presented the handgun again" when he was outside, "pointed it in her direction and fired a single round" before he left the apartment complex.
The documents said that officers found a live round in the parking lot of the complex, as well as a single spent casing. An additional live round was found on the stairwell of the apartment.
Moore was taken into custody early Tuesday morning during an unrelated incident in the 4400 block of S. Pinewood Street. During that incident, Moore was arrested on a warrant not issued in Delaware County as well as a misdemeanor charge of unlawful carrying of a handgun.
