Docs: Saratoga man accused of raping teen following graduation celebration

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A Saratoga man reportedly raped a family friend following a graduation celebration.




According to court documents recently filed in Randolph County, George Fenton has been charged with:

• One count of rape, a Level 3 felony





• One count of criminal confinement, a Level 6 felony.

On the evening of May 31, a sergeant with the Randolph County Sheriff's Department responded to a reported rape. The court documents state that a teen had reportedly been raped by a family friend and had run "naked out of the house where the alleged incident occurred."




After the incident, the teen reportedly went to a Winchester hospital. An investigation by law enforcement found that the incident reportedly took place at a Saratoga home in the 300 block of E. Main Street.








In an interview with the teen at the hospital, she reportedly told law enforcement that she was at Fenton's house after a graduation ceremony. The court documents stated that she said she stayed at the home after she had too much to drink.




When she was in bed, the documents allege that Fenton came into the room, took her clothes off and started to touch the teen inappropriately. At one point during the interaction, the teen began to scream and "(Fenton) tried to cover her mouth." The documents state that when Fenton turned his back to the teen, she reportedly grabbed a blanket and ran out of the home.




A witness reportedly told law enforcement that Fenton denied the allegation, stating "he had merely used the bathroom." The documents also included multiple witness accounts that reportedly corroborated the teen's account.




According to court documents, Fenton's pretrial conference is scheduled for Sept. 25 with a jury trial scheduled for Nov. 10.
