Fever to play Aces in WNBA semifinals; here's the schedule

INDIANAPOLIS - After a pair of thrilling, down-to-the-wire wins, the Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces will face each other in the semifinal round of the WNBA Playoffs.

Game 1 is set for Sunday.

No. 6 Indiana clinched its first-round win against the No. 3 Atlanta Dream thanks to late-game heroics from Lexie Hull, Kelsey Mitchell, Odyssey Sims and Aliyah Boston. The Fever led by a point after a late bucket from Boston-their first lead of the second half. They led for only seven seconds in the fourth quarter.

They were the seven seconds that counted.

Hull stole the ensuing inbounds pass, and the Fever tried to run out the clock. Sims ended up with the ball and hit one of two free throws. A desperation heave from the Dream's Brionna Jones was off the mark, and the Fever claimed a hard-fought 87-85 victory to seal the series and advance to the semifinals for the first time in a decade.

Indiana closed the game with a 7-0 run in the final two minutes and trailed 85-80 before their late rally.

No. 2 Las Vegas won its decisive Game 3 against the No. 7 Seattle Storm 74-73. Jackie Young hit the go-ahead shot with 12.4 seconds left and the Aces held off the Storm to claim the series.

It's the seventh consecutive season the Aces have advanced to the semifinal round. Star A'ja Wilson scored 38 points.

The dramatic wins set up a semifinal between the No. 6 Fever and No. 2 Aces. Coming into the playoffs, the Aces had won 16 straight games. The Fever closed out the regular season on a crucial three-game winning streak that helped them secure a playoff berth.
