
PENDLETON, Ind. - A fire damaged a home in Pendleton early Sunday morning.
In a Facebook post, the South Madison Fire Territory indicated that its crews responded to a structure fire on Taylor Street around 2:53 a.m. While on their way to the scene, firefighters received a report that indicated people might be trapped inside the burning structure.

When crew made it to the area, they located heavy fire emanating from a residence. Firefighters subsequently conducted a sweep of the burning residence and confirmed nobody was inside it.
After ensuring the home was cleared out, crews made an attack on the fire. SMFT marked the blaze under control at 3:08 a.m.
SMFT did not indicate how many individuals, if any, were injured or displaced by the fire.
