Per IFD, crews were first called to the structure around 1:29 p.m. because dispatchers had received numerous reports that indicated heavy smoke had been spotted in the area.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they rapidly attacked the blaze. IFD reported that its crews brought the fire under control in 20 minutes.
After an investigation, IFD determined the fire was caused accidentally. Fire investigators indicated that the blaze was likely started by damaged electrical cords that were placed under combustibles.
