EDINBURGH, Ind. - Firefighters might have a reputation for saving cats stuck in trees, but what about a National Guardsman?
On Friday morning, a paratrooper's landing didn't go exactly as planned at Camp Atterbury. Instead of floating peacefully back to solid ground, the guardsman's chute tangled in some tree limbs - leaving them stranded a few dozen feet in the air.
Luckily, Edinburgh firefighters have experience rescuing things from high places.
Using the extendable ladder mounted to a fire engine, fire crews were able to quickly help out the stranded paratrooper. Niniveh firefighters assisted the Edinburgh Fire and Rescue team.
No injuries were reported.
