Fishers Police Department investigating shooting near State Road 37

FISHERS, Ind. - The Fishers Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred near State Road 37 Saturday afternoon




Public police reporting systems indicate officers were dispatched to the 9300 block of Benton Drive - which is located just off State Road 37 - around 3:47 p.m. to investigate a shooting.

In a memo sent to media outlets Saturday afternoon, FPD confirmed that it is investigating a shooting. The department also reported that the shooting "does not appear to be a random act."




As of this article's publication, FPD had not provided any additional information on the shooting. The agency indicated that it expects to release updates on its investigation of the shooting when possible.




"This is an active and developing investigation and we will update all media partners as soon as we are able to," FPD officials wrote in their memo. "Please allow our officers and detectives the ability and time to conduct this investigation."
