Flags to fly at half staff in Indiana in memoriam of Minnesota shooting victims
INDIANAPOLIS - Flags in Indiana will be flown at half-staff in memoriam of those who were killed in a shooting in Minnesota on Wednesday.
On Wednesday night, Indiana Gov. Mike Braun indicated that he would require flags to be flown at half-staff across the State of Indiana. Per a release from the governor's office, flags will be flown at half-staff at all state facilities until sunset on Sunday.
Braun's order was issued after President Donald Trump mandated flags be lowered at all federal buildings in the U.S.
As of 6:53 p.m. on Wednesday, the Associated Press was reporting that two children were killed and 17 other people were injured when a shooter opened fire through the windows of a Catholic church in Minneapolis. Per the AP, the children were celebrating Mass during their first week of school.
In addition to flags being flown at half staff at state facilities, Braun is also encouraging Hoosiers to show their respect for the Minnesota shooting victims by lowering flags to half staff at their personal homes and businesses.
