Front brings Saturday afternoon/evening storms to central Indiana

Another 90° streak could occur if Indianapolis gets to that number Saturday. It's possible but we'll be watching when a cold front passes through the region. Out ahead of it, more heat and humidity across the board with dry times. That will change with the peak heating of the day with more storms ahead of the front.

The atmosphere is juiced up and primed for storms. Some of the storms will be on the stronger side with an isolated damaging wind threat. That threat is slightly higher along and east of Interstate 69. Additionally, expect frequent thunder/lightning and heavy downpours.

The timing of the storms will be 3-4 PM through sunset with west-to-east movement. Peak coverage around 50% close to dinner time. Stay weather aware if you have any outdoor plans during this time frame. Storms will exit around sunset.

Behind the front, winds will shift giving us a brief bout of northwest winds. That will lower humidity levels slightly for Sunday. Still expect highs in the upper 80s to near 90° but it will not be as humid.

Next week, expect daily rain chances in the afternoon and early evenings mainly. The humidity levels will rise again for most of the work week. Highs around 90° will also be around thanks to a nearly stationary boundary for the week. By Friday, temperatures lower but we will have to monitor how low the dew points could drop by that time.
