Legends Day turned out to be perfect, with highs climbing into the lower 70s and partly sunny skies! Dew points have remained low, which has made the air feel really refreshing and comfy!
That will continue into the overnight hours, but clouds will work back into the forecast as a system out west inches closer to the Great Lakes.
The gates for the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 will open starting at 6 am and temperatures will be sitting in the lower 50's with cloudy skies. When it comes to our rain chances on Sunday, they still exist. However, that will be well south of Indianapolis and central Indiana. The dry air will evaporate any rain showers before they reach the ground.
If Indianapolis stays in the 60s on Race Day, it will be the coolest in 12 years (2013 Indy 500: 68° high). It won't be the coolest of all time; that belongs to 1992!
