It has been another muggy morning with low temperatures in the lower to mid-70s across the state. The radar was dry, and rain was not an issue for the morning rush hour. However, there were areas of fog that formed the morning commute! The visibility dropped below a quarter mile in spots, including Lafayette, Kokomo and near Frankfort.
Central Indiana is expected to remain dry today, but it will turn steamy this afternoon with highs in the lower 90s. The humidity stays elevated with dew points in the mid-70s.
The hot and humid conditions may trigger a stray shower or storm this afternoon. The bigger story is how heat and humidity will make it feel like the lower 100s during peak heating. A Heat Advisory remains in effect through 8 p.m.
An approaching cold front will bring a chance for late-day spotty showers and storms on Wednesday. Ahead of the rain chance, highs will return to the lower 90s. Storm coverage rises Wednesday night and Thursday when the boundary slides over the state. Highs drop to the mid-80s Thursday afternoon and eventually into the upper 70s on Friday!
