Heat wave continues into next week; A cool-off to follow

It's Race weekend again in Central Indiana as the Brickyard 400 returns to IMS! It will once again be hot and humid with isolated storms possible both Saturday and Sunday. As we kick off our Saturday morning, clouds have worked back into Central Indiana with temperatures sitting in the mid-70s.

A heat advisory continues until 8 pm tonight as head indices make a run into the triple digits across Central Indiana.

Highs will climb into the lower 90's and a few storms will be possible this afternoon. Heavy downpours are likely in the storms.

We will monitor the trends for the upcoming races at IMS. I am liking the recent trends of showing fewer storms each of the next afternoon. Be sure to check back for updates.

The heat wave continues into the new workweek with highs in the mid-90s and a heat index over 105°.
