Expect a clear but very muggy start this Monday morning, as temperatures hold in the middle 70s at sunrise (6:18 a.m.). No doubt, a steamy day ahead!
This afternoon will bring intense heat, as highs reach the 90s for the third day straight, marking an official heat wave now in Indiana. The forecast high for downtown could reach 95°, close to tying the record of 96°, set back in 1930. No rain today, just blistering sun! Heat index again, nearing 100° at times...
More heat coming through the week, as the Heat Advisory holds until Friday evening. Storm chances enter the chat on Wednesday with a limited, pop-up shower or storm expected with about 30% coverage by late afternoon. By the end of the week, storm chances move up to 50% in coverage, including the weekend, which will eventually pull our temperatures back down into the 80s.
In the meantime, take it slow, take many breaks, find shade and over hydrate while outside working or even hanging poolside.
