Skies are clear and some haze exists around the state for Thursday morning. Temperatures are holding in the upper 60s/lower 70s out-the-door...fairly seasonal for an early July morning. Expect a very bright sunrise and steady climb in warmth by lunchtime today.
This afternoon will be quite toasty, as highs reach the upper 80s statewide. Winds remain light today between 4-8 mph, so little relief from the heat. There will be the smallest chance of a late day shower/t'shower around 3 p.m. but only 10% in coverage for the entire state. Be sure to have those sunglasses and lather up on the sunscreen.
Friday will bring the hottest day of the workweek (91°) and a slight jump in dew points (more humid). This will mark an uncomfortable day! A few, isolated storms are expected to return by late afternoon and could bring some lightning with healthier downpours.
A greater threat for severe weather will arrive on Saturday afternoon and into the evening. Still tough to call on the timing but damaging winds and hail could both be in play! Expect more updates, as we near this potential weekend event.
