Drier, warmer and muggier air is now building in across the state! Out-the-door, expect temperatures ranging between 62-66°, under partly cloudy skies and a few pockets of patchy fog but more importantly...a quiet, calmer radar, as the warm front lifts north taking any rain chance with it.
This afternoon will bring a mix of clouds and sun, along with breezy, south winds at 10-20 mph, while temperatures rapidly warm. Today will be the warmest of 2025 (so far), as highs reach the upper 80s, pushing close to the record high of 88° setback in 2001, 1988 and 1894. Many laps expected on a hot track today at IMS.
Tonight, after 7 p.m., storm chances rise up and some could be severe through 3 a.m. These will by widely scattered, so not all will contend with the severe threat before the "cold" front clears the state overnight. The storm threat could produce high winds and larger hail.
Another very warm day on Friday before another round of severe storms on Friday evening before a change in the pattern over the weekend.
