INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis metro police responded to a shooting on the city's east side that left one person critically hurt on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called around 12:13 p.m. to the 8200 block of Wysong Drive after receiving reports that a shooting had occurred in the area. IMPD said officers arrived and located one victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
They were last reported to be in "critical" condition. The IMPD confirmed that detectives have detained one individual as they work to gather more information about the incident. It remains unclear what role, if any, they may have allegedly had in the shooting.
