IMPD: 4 arrested after 'reckless shooting' on east side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS -- Four individuals have been arrested after a July 5 shooting on the east side of Indianapolis led to a woman being injured.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested the following individuals on preliminary charges in relation to the shooting in the 4000 block of E. Michigan St.:
- Damarion Bean, 21
- Two counts of criminal recklessness
- One count of theft of a firearm
- One count of unlawful carrying of a firearm
- Two outstanding warrants
- Torrence Milton, 28
- One count of unlawful carrying of a handgun
- Shanice Hatcher, 29
- One count of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon
- One count of unlawful carrying of a handgun
- One count of criminal recklessness
- One count of battery with a deadly weapon
- One count of possession of a machine gun
- Takila Beech, 38
- One count of obstruction of justice
- Two counts of assisting a criminal
According to previous reports, officers patrolling the area that evening were reportedly flagged down by individuals around 6:45 p.m. regarding shots fired in the area. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman who had been shot.
Initially, the department reported that the woman was in critical condition after the shooting. However, officers later said that the woman was in stable condition.
In an update from IMPD sent out on Thursday, the department said that the shooting stemmed from an alleged fight organized on social media. Three individuals, including Bean, Hatcher and Milton, were arrested for their roles in the shooting.
Beech was arrested after she reportedly provided the gun Hatcher used and reportedly drove Bean away from the scene, the update read.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make the final charging decisions in this case, according to the update.
