IMPD: 4 injured after crash involving train, vehicle on Indy's south side
INDIANAPOLIS -- A crash involving a train and a vehicle left four people injured on the south side of Indianapolis Thursday afternoon.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called around 2 p.m. to the 1900 block of E. Banta Road in response to a reported crash. IMPD said officers arrived on the scene and located a Louisville and Indiana Railroad (LIRC) train and a black vehicle that had been involved in a crash.
IMPD confirmed that four occupants inside the vehicle were transported to area hospitals for treatment of "minor" injuries and were last reported to be in stable condition. The driver was evaluated by medical personnel on the scene.
FOX59/CBS4 is working to learn more about the circumstances that led to this crash. The incident remains under investigation by IMPD's Traffic Unit. As of this article's publication, no other information was immediately available.
