IMPD: Arrest made after near north side apartment stabbing


INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a reported Tuesday night stabbing on the near north side of Indianapolis.




According to a police report obtained by FOX59/CBS4, officers were dispatched around 10:04 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a stabbing at an apartment in the 3400 block of Central Ave.








In a statement from IMPD, officers said that a man was stabbed and transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The police report states that the weapon allegedly used in the stabbing was identified as a "knife/cutting instrument."




Later that evening, a man who had been stabbed walked into a local hospital. IMPD stated that the walk-in was identified as the suspect in the earlier incident.




The walk-in, identified as a 32-year-old South Bend man in the IMPD police report, was arrested and preliminarily charged with aggravated battery - serious permanent disfigurement, a Level 3 felony, after his release from the hospital.
