IMPD: Child dies after being found unresponsive near body of water on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis metro police have launched a death investigation after a missing child died shortly after being found unresponsive on the northeast side Sunday night.




Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 5600 block of Wyckfield Way after receiving reports of a missing child in the area. IMPD said officers arrived on the scene and located an unresponsive child near a body of water.




The officers provided life-saving measures before the child was brought to an area hospital in critical condition. IMPD said the child died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
