IMPD investigates fatal crash on northwest side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS -- Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal crash on the northwest side of Indianapolis.




According to IMPD, officers were called to the area of W 64th Street and Michigan Road at around 12:45 p.m. on Friday on a call of a reported accident. Officials said it was a "confirmed fatal crash."

As of this story's publication, further information has not been provided by IMPD about how many people were involved in the crash.




In a post from IMPD on social media, officials are asking drivers to avoid the area.




"There will be restricted lanes of travel for the next several hours," the post read.
