IMPD: Lawrence woman arrested after guns, drugs found during house search

INDIANAPOLIS -- The search of a home in Lawrence led to the arrest of a 39-year-old woman after drugs and firearms were allegedly found, officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.
On April 24, investigators with the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force, along with IMPD's SWAT team, conducted a search at a home in the 9000 block of Pendleton Pike. The department said this was in relation to an investigation into narcotics dealing and illegal firearms possession.
The department said that law enforcement officials took Andrea Burnett into custody on two active warrants, including charges of auto theft and possession of a narcotic drug, two Level 6 felonies.
During a search of the home, officials reportedly recovered:
- Four handguns
- Seven grams of suspected methamphetamine
- 10 grams of marijuana
- $650 of U.S. currency.
In addition to the warrants, Burnett was also arrested on the following charges:
- One count of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 4 felony
- One count of unlawful carrying of a handgun, a Level 5 felony
According to the court documents, Burnett's final pretrial hearing is on July 16 and a jury trial is scheduled to begin on July 21.
