INDIANAPOLIS - An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed on Indy's near north side Sunday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, shortly after 2:40 a.m., officers responded to an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Central Avenue on the report of shots fired.
When officers arrived on scene, they searched the area and did not locate any evidence a shooting.
Shortly after, officers received a second call about somebody shot up on the fourth floor of the apartment building. Investigators located an adult male with injuries consistent with gunshot wound. He died at the scene, police said.
Investigators think there was some kind of party going on, possibly in a short term rental, before the shooting took place.
No additional information was released. The incident remains under investigation.
