IMPD: Man killed in shooting outside south side bar

INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis Metro Police Department is investigating a shooting that killed a man early Thursday morning.




According to IMPD, at 1:35 a.m. officers received a report of a person shot at the "Mucky Duck Pub" in the 4400 block of Southport Crossings Way. When officers arrived they located an adult male in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.




The victim was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, where he died shortly after arrival.




When officers arrived on scene a large fight was taking place in the parking lot of the bar. Police believe the cause of the fight was a disturbance between a female and another male, and then the victim became involved in it.




Police say that several people stayed on scene and are cooperating with detectives, but several others were able to get away while officers were breaking up the fight.
