INDIANAPOLIS - Indy police say "all suspects are in custody" after a police officer was shot on the city's near northwest side.
Indianapolis Metro police crews were called just after 2 p.m. to the intersection of N. White River Pkwy E. Drive and Sheffield Avenue for an investigation. Soon after, EMS crews were called to the intersection of 16th Street and Lafayette Road for a gunshot scene.
"IMPD is actively investigating a shooting near 16th and Lafayette Road," the department said around 2:20 p.m. on social media.
Multiple sources have confirmed to FOX59/CBS4 that an IMPD officer was shot twice, once in the leg and once in the buttocks. The officer's condition is not known.
According to police, the area was not secure as of 2:20 p.m. Around 2:30 p.m., IMPD said that "all suspects are now believed to be in custody."
