INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis metro police responded to a shooting that left one person dead on the city's east side Friday night.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around 6:01 p.m. to a residence located on Burbank Road in response to a shooting in the area. IMPD said officers arrived and found an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. They were pronounced deceased on the scene.
IMPD confirmed officers have detained one individual as they are canvassing the scene for evidence. It remains unclear what role, if any, this individual may have had in the incident.
