INDIANAPOLIS - Patrick Murray is officially Indiana's funniest Hoosier after winning the Indianapolis Funniest 2025 competition at Helium Comedy Club in downtown Indianapolis on Sunday night.
The competition drew more than 150 comics this year, all vying for the title with only original material. After seven years of chasing the crown, Murray finally achieved his goal-and walked away with the $3,000 grand prize-thanks to a standout set that won over both judges and the crowd.
When asked what's next, Murray laughed and said, "I'm going to go get drunk." After celebrating, he added that fans can also look forward to a new stand-up album release.
The lively night was hosted by 2019 Indy's Funniest winner and inaugural champion Deon Curry, who kept the audience entertained between sets and reflected on how far the competition has come.
"The crowd had a lot of good energy tonight, and honestly, I was proud to see this round of contestants," said Curry. "From last year to this year, I've seen a lot of growth in the comics."
Second place went to Quinn Schlegel, while Glenn Ware rounded out the top three. Other finalists included Grant Weber, Cole Peterson, Dyke Michaels, jus Will, Justin Seymour, and Jakob Kendall.
While judges deliberated, 2022 winner David Brooks closed out the night with a powerhouse performance.
Curry also offered advice for aspiring comedians: "Go to as many shows as you can to watch the professionals do it."
