Indy middle schoolers spending summer as viral sensation 'Creek Crawlers'

INDIANAPOLIS - In a shaded and shallow creek bed in Indianapolis, a group of middle school boys are splashing around - doing exactly what kids their age have done for generations.




The group calls themselves the Creek Crawlers. They started the group in June and made an Instagram account for it. They vlog their daily trips to the creek and do other summer activities.




The Creek Crawlers' original goal was 10,000 followers by the end of the summer, but 24 hours after posting their first video, they had already surpassed that goal.




Now, the Creek Crawlers Instagram account has more than 665,000 followers. The new goal is an even million followers by the end of the summer.




Followers have commented from all over the world. The boys said most of the comments are praising them for not being behind a screen and getting outside to have fun.
