ISP helicopter used to find armed, half-naked man hiding in retention pond

INDIANAPOLIS - A police helicopter was used Thursday on Indy's near southwest side to help find an armed, half-naked man who had jumped into a retention pond while running from officers.
Indiana State Police said around 1 p.m. that an armed suspect was being chased on foot along W. Minnesota Street when he jumped into a retention pond near the intersection of S. Tibbs Street in an attempt to hide.
ISP said that Copter 1 was deployed in an attempt to find the man.
The situation reportedly ended in a "successful apprehension" after IMPD officers assisted troopers in negotiating with the man to get out of the water.
In a photo posted on social media by ISP Sgt. John Perrine, the suspect can be seen walking out of the water. He appears to be shirtless and has his pants pulled down. That photo can be seen below:
ISP said no one was injured during the incident. No other information was immediately provided.
