TIPTON COUNTY, Ind. -- A Tipton man has been arrested for attempted murder and other felony charges after allegedly shooting and injuring another man Monday night.
According to Indiana State Police, officers with the Tipton City Police Department responded around 5:30 p.m. to a residence located in the 400 block of West Jefferson Street to investigate a possible shooting. When officers arrived, ISP said they discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.
While the circumstances that led to the shooting remain unclear, ISP said the shooting likely stemmed from some altercation inside the residence. This led them to place 32-year-old Anthony Mulvaney under arrest for his alleged role in the shooting.
The victim was last reported to be in stable condition after receiving treatment at an area hospital, according to ISP.
Mulvaney was transported to the Tipton County Jail, where he faces the following preliminary charges:
- Attempted Murder (Level 1 Felony)
- Aggravated Battery (Level 3 Felony)
- Criminal Confinement (Level 3 Felony)
- Three counts of Neglect of a Dependent (Level 6 Felony)
- Criminal Recklessness (Level 6 Felony)
- Pointing a Firearm (Level 6 Felony)
The Tipton County Prosecutor's Office will make the final decision on whether formal charges are filed in the case.
