It's official: This year's Indy 500 is a sellout

INDIANAPOLIS - It's official-the 109^th Running of the Indianapolis is a sellout.




The Indianapolis Motor Speedway said all reserved seats, including those in the grandstands and suites, are gone.

IMS officials announced last week that they anticipated the sellout. They were so confident about it that they lifted the local TV blackout for the race, meaning the very first Indy 500 carried by FOX will air on FOX59.




"As promised, the very best fans in sports have delivered in fitting fashion for the stars of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, and every last reserved seat ticket has been sold," said IndyCar and IMS president J. Douglas Boles. "Approximately 350,000 people will experience the ultimate spectacle that is the Indy 500 in person as everyone turns their focus to the Racing Capital of the World on Sunday."




General admission tickets for the infield remain available by visiting IMS.com, calling 317-492-6700 or going to the IMS Ticket Office.








A limited number of reserved seat tickets are available on the IMS Official Resale Marketplace through Wednesday, May 21 at 11:59 p.m. ET. The marketplace will then close to allow sufficient time for transfer and delivery of these tickets to purchasers on the secondary market.




Fans can still get tickets for Miller Lite Carb Day and Legends Day. Wristbands for the Snake Pit can be purchased when buying a general admission ticket for the race.




FOX59's coverage of the Indianapolis 500 starts at 5 a.m. on race day, with FOX network coverage starting at 10 a.m. The green flag drops on Sunday's race at 12:45 p.m.
