Juvenile arrested after police chase in Fishers

FISHERS, Ind. - A juvenile was arrested after a police chase in Fishers Tuesday morning.




In a post on X, the Fishers Police Department reported that its officers identified a possibly stolen vehicle with assistance from license plate readers around 6:30 a.m. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop with the driver of the allegedly stolen vehicle near the intersection of 131st Street and Cumberland Road.




The driver of the suspect vehicle disregarded police's efforts to start a traffic stop and fled the area. Per FPD, the chase ended shortly after it began because the driver of the suspect vehicle crashed into a light pole. The car was disabled during the crash.




After crashing the car, the driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene on foot. An FPD K-9 unit later tracked the suspect to a residence.




Once police zeroed in on the suspect's location, they took him into custody. FPD ultimately determined that the suspect was a 15-year-old male.




The juvenile suspect has been preliminarily charged with operating a vehicle without ever having received a license, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of resisting law enforcement.
