Kokomo man charged with child exploitation, possession of child pornography

KOKOMO, Ind. -- Police have arrested a Kokomo man facing possession of child pornography and other felony counts.
According to the Kokomo Police Department, a warrant was issued for 20-year-old David Johns after a report was filed on Feb. 10 alleging that Johns engaged in sexual misconduct with an underage victim. Johns was arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail where he faces the following preliminary charges:
- Sexual Misconduct with a Minor (Level 5 Felony)
- Child Exploitation (Level 5 Felony)
- Possession of Child Pornography (Level 6 Felony)
- Importation of Obscene Matter (Level 6 Felony)
Following his arrest, West Virginia State Police informed KPD that Johns was a possible suspect in a separate child solicitation/child exploitation case.
KPD noted that more victims could come forward as detectives continue to investigate. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact KPD at (765) 456-7017.
According to online court records, Johns is scheduled to appear in Howard Superior Court 2 on May 13 for a jury trial.
