INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating a shooting on the northeast side that prompted a significant law enforcement presence early Thursday morning.
According to IMPD, officers were initially dispatched around 3:50 a.m. to the 4100 block of Meadows Way where they found a person had been shot.
Police didn't immediately disclose the extent of the person's injuries, saying only that they were "awake and breathing."
Officers detained an individual in connection with the shooting, police said.
Video from the scene showed multiple police vehicles and an ambulance at the location, along with several officers.
