On Sept. 6, 2024, IMPD officers interviewed a woman who said she was a victim of domestic battery and rape. The woman said that the incident took place at an apartment on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
According to court documents, the woman told police the physical abuse had gone on for years, stating it was "not getting any better." This included a man, later identified as White, reportedly forcing the woman to do certain actions, including eating feces, or he would get physical with her.
During an argument that occurred at that time, White reportedly took out a gun and smashed the woman's hand with it, as well as hit her on the back of the head with the gun.
The woman said that on the morning of Sept. 6, White raped her, forced her to eat vomit and committed other violent acts. White reportedly told the woman during the violent incidents that he would "spare her."
Later that month, officers responded to the apartment, located in the area of the 7800 block of Brookfield Court. The documents said that White was reportedly located with a firearm. Another firearm, identified as a shotgun, was also located in the home.
In an interview with White, he initially denied any arguments or physical altercation with the woman, stating that she was the one who was physical with him. White said he did not know how she got her injuries, denied hitting her with a gun and stressed that all the sexual encounters were consensual.
Later in the investigation, detectives reportedly saw photos that were taken of the woman of specific occurrences during the incident that White was going to use as blackmail.
"This verdict puts away a violent predator and frees the survivor from unimaginable abuse," Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said in the release. "Her courage brought justice- not only for herself but for the safety of our community."
