LOGANSPORT, Ind. - A Logansport man was handed down a 98-year prison sentence on Wednesday for two counts of child molesting and one count of child exploitation, according to the Cass County Prosecutor's Office.
In a press release from the CCPO, it was reported that 42-year-old Justin Bault was convicted of the crimes at a jury trial in March.
This came from an investigation that took place in September of 2022, in which Bault molested two girls when they were around seven years old and "had taken digital images of the acts," the CCPO said.
Bault received 45 years for each child molesting charge (One being a Class A Felony, the other a Level 1 Felony), plus eight additional years on the child exploitation charge, for a consecutive sentence of 98 years at the Indiana Department of Correction.
The CCPO wrote that Bault has two additional pending criminal cases, according to court records. One is regarding sexual misconduct with a minor, while the other involves the unlawful carrying of a handgun. Both of these have a sentencing date of May 8 at 1 p.m., per the CCPO.
"We're grateful for the team effort that brought a monster to justice," said Cass County Prosecutor Noah Schafer. "Thank you ISP, to DCS, to the victims for bravely testifying and to the members of the prosecutor's office who helped the victims find justice."
