LAWRENCE, Ind. - A person is in stable condition at a local hospital after Lawrence police were called to a multi-vehicle crash that ended in a road rage shooting.
Lawrence police officers were called just before 3 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of Pendleton Pike and N. Franklin Road for a person shot. LPD said the shooting "appeared to have stemmed from a road rage incident" that occurred in traffic near the intersection.
Officers had reportedly shut down part of the intersection prior to the shooting after several cars were involved in a crash nearby. No victim information was provided for the crash.
While stuck in the resulting traffic, a person was reportedly shot in the "lower extremities." That victim was then taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
LPD said that, as of 4 p.m., no arrests have been made and no suspect information is available. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and no other details were provided.
