Man airlifted to hospital after farm tractor rear-ended by Ram pickup in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY, Ind. - A Bloomington man is accused of driving under the influence and slamming his Dodge Ram into the back of a farm tractor.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Department was called to W. State Road 4 and S. Duncan Road at roughly 5:40 a.m. on Thurday on report of a truck vs farm tractor collision. Deputies said upon arrival they determined a 2004 black Dodge Ram had rear-ended a Massey Ferguson farm tractor.
The driver of the farm tractor was initially pinned and unable to move due to the collision. The 62-year-old from Bloomington was eventually freed from the tractor and airlifted to Bloomington hospital.
Jared Hash, 31, of Bloomington was identified as the driver of the Dodge Ram. Hash was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating while intoxicated resulting in a serious bodily injury crash, a Level 4 felony.
Court records show this isn't the first time Hash has been arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. In September 2024, Hash was charged with two misdemeanor counts of OWI and sentenced to 180 days on probation.
The sheirff's department closed the roadway near the crash for nearly three hours during the investigation on Thursday morning. The crash investigation is ongoing.
