
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- A man is facing attempted murder and other felony counts after police say he shot two people in Bloomington last month.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, 36-year-old Jerry Jackson has been arrested after detectives identified him as the suspect in a double shooting that occurred on June 18 in the 4600 block of S. College Drive.
According to previous reports, the shooting left a 35-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. MCSO said both of the victims received medical treatment at an area hospital and are expected to fully recover. MCSO reported at the time that the shooting appeared to be targeted and that there was no threat to public safety.
During the investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jackson shortly after identifying him as the primary suspect. Jail records indicate that he was arrested and booked into the Monroe County Jail shortly after 12:30 a.m. on July 9.
Jackson faces preliminary charges of Attempted Murder (Level 1 Felony) and two counts of Aggravated Battery (Level 3 Felony). Online court records show that Jackson appeared in Monroe Circuit Court 5 for an initial hearing Wednesday afternoon.
