Man critically injured in crash on near NW side

INDIANAPOLIS - An investigation is underway after a man was critically injured in a crash on Indy's near northwest side Saturday night.




According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the crash happened just before midnight in the 2000 block of West Kessler Boulevard North Drive. A 50-year-old man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, according to police.




Investigators were told on scene that people nearby were attempting to push an SUV they thought was broken down in the street into a nearby driveway. That's when the man riding the moped ran into the SUV without seeing the vehicle.




Not additional information was released. The incident remains under investigation.
