Man dead after shooting involving Lafayette police

LAFAYETTE, IN - One man is dead after a shooting involving the Lafayette Police Department Thursday night.




According to Lafayette Police Department, around 9 p.m. officers responded to a domestic incident between a man and woman at an apartment in the 2800 block of Ravenwood Court.




The woman asked officers to be present while she and her son left the apartment. When the officers were inside the apartment the man began shooting at the officers. The officers returned fire.




The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.




No one else was injured in the shooting and all parties are accounted for.




The officers involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave pending the results of a criminal and internal investigation, which is standard procedure.
