INDIANAPOLIS - A man was taken to the hospital following an early Wednesday morning shooting on the near northwest side of Indianapolis.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around 3:20 a.m. to West 29th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
Police found a man lying in the road suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital. Police didn't disclose the extent of his injuries, saying only that he was in stable condition.
Investigators planned to review footage from nearby surveillance cameras to learn more about the shooting. They said there was no ongoing threat to the community.
The shooting remains under investigation.
