Man injured in shooting on 54th Street in Lawrence; Woman detained

LAWRENCE, Ind. - A man was injured in a shooting in Lawrence Saturday night.




According to the Lawrence Police Department, officers responded to 7300 block of 54th Street around 7:37 p.m. to investigate a reported shooting. As police began looking into the report, they determined that a man had, indeed, been injured in a shooting.

LPD confirmed that the man was transported from the scene to a local hospital after the shooting. Police reported that the victim is currently in "serious condition."




During their investigation of the shooting, police identified a woman who may have also been involved in the incident. LPD reported that its officers detained the woman. As of 9 p.m., LPD was still holding her for investigative reasons.
