Man injured in shooting after attempted car jacking on Indy's west side
INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis Metro Police Department is investigating after a man was injured in a shooting early Tuesday morning.
According to IMPD, at 2:47 a.m., officers received a report of a person shot in the 3500 block of Hyannis Port Drive.
The adult male victim called officers stating that he believed two males were trying to car jack him on Nantucket drive. The man said when he tried to get away he was shot at and believes he was struck by gunfire.
The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Officers found several shell casings on Nantucket Drive and found that the victim's vehicle was struck six times by gunfire.
The victim was able to give a description to officers saying that the suspects were both about six feet tall and they walked away from the scene of the incident.
Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses and doorbell footage to help gain more information about what happened and information on the suspects
