
LOGANSPORT, Ind. - A Cass County man was sentenced to 138 years on Thursday for multiple counts of child molestation against multiple victims.
Scott VanArsdale, 39, was sentenced in Cass Superior Court 2 to spend the next century in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
"We are very grateful for the work of Detective Turney and the Cass County Sheriff's Department in aggressively pursuing and investigating these cases," said Prosecutor Noah Schafer.
"We are also tremendously proud of the victims for bravely facing the criminal who violated them, and we salute the jury who listened to the evidence and held the perpetrator accountable."
Authorities launched an investigation into VanArsdale, and in January of 2024. police served an arrest warrant and taken to the Cass County Jail.
He was charged with the following:
- Two counts of child molesting, Level 1 felony
- Two counts of sexual battery, Level 6 felony
- Neglect of a dependent, Level 6 felony
- Criminal confinement, Level 6 felony
- Contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Class A misdemeanor
- Resisting law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor
It is reported that victims have suffered immense lifelong harm stemming from the attacks from the habitual offender.
