INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis Metro Police Department is investigating a shooting that killed a man early Friday morning.
According to IMPD, at 12:45 a.m., officers received a crash notification alert from an iPhone in the 400 block of Griffin Road.
While officers were en route the Indianapolis Fire Department found an adult male inside the vehicle, upon pulling the male out the vehicle IFD discovered that the male had been shot.
The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical condition, where he died shortly after arrival.
After IMPD arrived on scene they received a report nearby of a suspicious person running through a yard. Officers went to that location and found a crime scene in the middle of the street.
Police believe that this is an isolated incident and do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community.
Officers do not have any witnesses or information on a suspect.
