Marion County Prosecutor's Office: Hateful, disturbing flyers distributed on west side of Indianapol
INDIANAPOLIS - Hateful flyers were distributed on the west side of Indianapolis last week.
In a post on X, the Marion County Prosecutor's Office confirmed that "hateful and disturbing" flyers were found on the west side of Indianapolis. MCPO encouraged those who spot such flyers to contact its crimes hotline at (317) 327-5314.
The prosecutor's office indicated that its crimes hotline is available to anyone who has "experienced or witnesses a potential bias-motivated crime." After contacting MCPO's crimes hotline, office staff can assist civilians with filing reports with law enforcement.
"The nearly 400 women and men of the Marion County Prosecutor's Office will continue to stand up against hate and seek justice," MCPO officials wrote in a statement released on X. "We will continue to support communities victimized by hate and seek better ways to eradicated hate in our community."
In addition to its crimes hotline, MCPO also offers hate crimes awareness presentations. The presentations explain what a hate crime is, how Indiana's hate crime law works, where it falls short, and the importance of recognizing hate.
MCPO hate crimes awareness presentations can be booked by contacting MCPO@indy.gov.
In its post on X, MCPO did not specify exactly where the hateful flyers were found. The prosecutor's office has not indicated if anybody has been criminally charged for their alleged roles in the distribution of the flyers.
